BMO Field, home of MLS club Toronto FC, is in emergency repair because material is falling down. The cause? The 20,000 rowdy fans that are stomping on the galvanized metal grandstands. This has caused bolts ranging from 4-6 centimeters in length, to fall down to the concrete concourse.
The bad part about this, is that repairs might not be finished until May 20th. Toronto FC play tomorrow (May 19th) at BMO field. Oh well, I guess that’s the way it goes. But it should be known that the TFC fans have done the following:
- Thrown seat cushions onto the pitch after Toronto scored their first ever goal.
- Showered Kansas City Wizards forward Eddie Johnson with beer after he scored the winning goal in the home debut of Toronto FC.
So as you can see, the folks in Toronto are quite excited about having a professional football (soccer) team. They are so excited, they are destroying their own cheap stadium and throwing away perfectly good seat cushions.
