Then basked in the glory a little bit more. To add to my happiness, my Super Bowl pick post got linked by Deadspin folks!! Now for some final thoughts about this historical achievement:

• Where in the heck did the running game go? The two teams rushed for a combined 136 yards. That’s pathetic, the leading rusher (Ahmad Bradshaw), had 45 yards.

• Tom Brady greatest of ummm….what now?

• Joe Buck, who many people (me included) bash because of his comatose commentary, had his best game…maybe ever as an NFL broadcaster.

• Isn’t it fitting that the Patriots, who always wins the Super Bowl by 3, loses one by the same margin?

• Eli Manning deserved the MVP award, but Justin Tuck and Steve Smith (USC, not the other one), were the unsung heroes of the game.

• Not the greatest Super Bowl of all time. It doesn’t even rank in the top 10. But the last 4 minutes of the game was definitely the most thrilling football I’ve ever seen in a Super Bowl.

• Most dramatic game winning play in Super Bowl history? Not the Plaxico Burress TD, how about Mike Jones stopping Kevin Dyson one yard short of the end zone in Super Bowl XXXIV?

• Eli Manning’s scrambling abilities have improved dramatically, and he is much better as far as that goes than Peyton.

• I truly, feel sorry for Junior Seau. He deserves a ring, but uh….

• Tiki Barber….uhh….good call on the retirement.

• Score one for the NFC!!
