I’ve looked at this play several times and Josh Shipp of UCLA does not shoot it over the backboard. The one thing that caught my attention was Brent Musberger and the little board at the scorers table saying “UCLA WINS!!!” with 1.5 seconds left (they did, but Cal had one last shot).
Of course, it’s no coincidence he is being a UCLA homer when he had this issue with Cal as well.
