We’re going to play a little game folks. It involves the remaining NBA playoff teams. I will throw out playoff related statistics (note it’s stats for the 2008 NBA Playoffs only!) and we’re going to see who is the odd team out! Simple? Okay……

NBA Awards

San Antonio Spurs – Manu Ginobili, 6th Man of the Year

Los Angeles Lakers – Kobe Bryant, MVP

Boston Celtics – Kevin Garnett, Defensive Player of the Year

Detroit Pistons – None

NBA Championships (Team with least is odd team out, titles before the NBA/ABA merger do count)

Detroit Pistons – 5 (3 NBA, 2 NBL as Fort Wayne Pistons)

Boston Celtics – 10465

Los Angeles Lakers – 15

San Antonio Spurs – 4

Road Wins

Detroit Pistons – 3

Los Angeles Lakers – 3

San Antonio Spurs – 2

Boston Celtics – 0

Home Wins

Boston Celtics – 8 out of 8

San Antonio Spurs – 6 out of 6

Los Angeles Lakers – 5 out of 5

Detroit Pistons – 5 out of 6

Number of Times Team Has Allowed at Least 100 points (Team with most is odd team out)

Detroit Pistons – 1

Boston Celtics – 3

San Antonio Spurs – 5

Los Angeles Lakers – 8

Number of Times Team Has Scored At Least 100 Points

Los Angeles Lakers – 9

San Antonio Spurs – 5

Detroit Pistons – 3

Boston Celtics – 3 out of 14 games….odd team out because they had 14 games and they could only get over 100 3 times!

Finally, Number of Series Won by Closing it Out on the Road

Los Angeles Lakers – 2

Detroit Pistons – 1

San Antonio Spurs – 1

Boston Celtics – 0

So here is our tally!

Boston Celtics – 3 out of 7

Detroit Pistons – 2 out of 7

San Antonio Spurs – 1 out of 7

Los Angeles Lakers – 1 out of 7

The Boston Celtics are your odd team out! Their playoffs has been so poor yet they’re in to the conference finals, and they edge out the Pistons, who nearly got kayoed by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Predictions!

2 down, 7 to go. Odell Thurman was released after serving a 2 year suspension for violating the league’s substance abuseĀ  and conduct policy….the Bengals are thrilled that they finally have a way to get rid of some of these guys….
