How do you possibly follow-up on losing a guy like Rob Ryan who has probably been the lone bright spot in the ever changing Raiders coaching staff? You hire a boring, predictable, blitz at the worst possible time defensive coordinator! His name? Oh, it’s an SSR favorite in John Marshall!
The same man that twice had the Seahawks rush 2 guys in a close game is coming to Oakland! Al Davis only solidifies himself as the one that has lost his mind.
I guess it is fitting, isn’t it? The Seahawks had Tom Flores as head coach and he proudly wears honor of having coached the worst Seahawks team in franchise history, going 2-14 in 1992. Now, while not on the same scale, the Raiders hire John Marshall, also proudly wearing the honor of having coached the defensive side of the 2nd worst Seahawks team in (the 16 game schedule) franchise history.
So the Chiefs, Broncos, and Chargers no longer need to worry about Oakland playing spoiler. Tom Cable may be new head coach, but John Marshall is coming into town ready to undo what Rob Ryan did!
FIRE JOHN MARSHALL!

Easy now, it’s all over, he’s been fired and we have a new guy now.
He may be out of Seattle but no team should be exposed to having defenses that sucky, no offense.
I just hope that Jim Johnson does not retire and the Eagles sign Marshall (he now works for Al Davis, he’ll be lucky to last 5 weeks). That is something that Andy Reid would do, you know.
I hated John Marshall when he was with the Niners. That being said though, Rob Ryan really wasn’t that good of an defensive coordinator. He started really well, but his defenses were really sub-par.
