Whoopee, This Blog is Three Years Old!

Breaking News: Seahawks trade TJ Houshmandzadeh and Brandon Mebane for this cake and a 6th round draft pick.

Technically yesterday was officially the opening of Stupid Sideline Reporters, but I forgot decided to note this on Monday as I was entranced in March Madness and Jon Jones shattering Brandon Vera’s face.

It’s been three years and nearly 1500 posts and 2346 comments later this puppy is still going strong. A massive pay raise thank you to all of my readers who have been following since the early days of the .blogspot domain. Hopefully that will continue once we get past the .wordpress era.

I’m not much of a birthday person so (as you can probably tell) this isn’t going to be a self-serving extravagant post discussing every major achievement this site has hit. The only thing I will say is that I’m glad I’ve lasted three years and will work feverishly to improve SSR to become one of the best sports opinion websites on the internet.

You can definitely expect several changes to the blog entering year #4 ……in fact you’re looking at one of them now. The template has changed, fewer posts are on the front page, and the sidebar has been somewhat “decluttered” to maximize viewing and minimize the page scrolling.

Again, thank you to my loyal readers and commenters, and cheers to another year of ranting about NBC. Oh yeah, and sports too. More specifically, a lot of therapeutic posts about the Seattle Seahawks and Toronto FC to ease the pain of watching the equivalent of a multi-car pileup on I-5.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming….

Congrats! And I can report that the Eagles are sending you that cake and a 6th round draft pick for Mebane and Houshmandzadeh.

Great! The cake is a little old and stale but we’re in “win now” mode and this veteran cake is what Carroll needs to get that.
