In last night’s Bellator Fighting Championships main event between Jay Silva and Hector Lombard, one of the fastest KOs in MMA history occurred. Recently cut from the UFC, Silva took the fight on short notice when Paulo Filho once again pulled out for “personal reasons”. In this 190 lbs catchweight “Superfight” for the tournament-style organization, Silva’s night would end very very quickly.
The bell rang and then the bout was quickly over. A perfect face-planting punch by Lombard on a leaning Jay Silva put the Brazilian to la-la-land.
Paulo Filho must have known something we didn’t.
