Dwayne De Rosario scored off a beautiful ball from substitute Maicon Santos to equalize against Motagua at 1-1 in the 2nd half and give them a 2-1 advantage on aggregate with an away goal advantage. Amado Guevara quickly got his 2nd goal of the match minutes after De Rosario’s strike and made TFC fans sweat once more. With 10 minutes remaining the advantage was restored when Chad Barrett was through on goal and slotted it past the Motagua goalkeeper. It’s 2-2 as I type this and only a horrible collapse will prevent TFC from reaching the group stages of the CONCACAF Champions League.
Considering how poorly this team has played in the past and definitely today, I think this is a huge huge result on the road. This better translate into successful league play.
Thank you Barrett and De Rosario for restoring hope. What a way to silence the Honduran crowd by scoring with literally your only 2 great shots on goal.
