BREAKING NEWS: Seahawks Trade Lawrence Jackson to Lions

Really? Another one shipped to Detroit? Just one day after the Seattle Seahawks traded for disgruntled San Francisco 49er Kentwan Balmer, they shipped DE Lawrence Jackson to the Detroit Lions for an undisclosed draft pick. The rumor is it’s for a 6th rounder, and considering LoJack was a 1st rounder in 2008 this is a significant drop in value.

Jackson only managed 6.5 sacks in 32 games (24 started) in his Seahawks career and for whatever reason he started strongly in both of his seasons and then became a complete non-factor after October. We’ll see if Balmer proves to be a decent replacement.

Just off the top of my head the Lions have Mo Morris, Rob Sims, Julian Peterson, Nate Burleson, and Will Heller on their roster; the addition of LoJack makes it 7 ex-Seahawks with Detroit.

Any chance we can ship Kelly Jennings there as well?
