"Now Richard Dawson could either have the same answer as me, but he could very easily have a different answer or a similar answer."

“Now Richard Dawson could either have the same answer as me, but he could very easily have a different answer or a similar answer.”

“Red Bryant is a smallish defensive end.”

Red Bryant is 6’4, 323 lbs. Dwight Freeney is the best DE in the game and he’s 6’1, 268 lbs. Seattle’s other defensive end Chris Clemons is listed as 6’3, 254 lbs. In what world is Red Bryant small? Bryant might be the most gigantic DE in football.

“Pete Carroll had the Seahawks drinking the Kool-aid”

I have no idea what this means and I’m paraphrasing somewhat, but Billick repeated this at least three times. What flavor Kool-aid are we talking here? Is it delicious Kool-aid? Maybe he could mean this? I hope he doesn’t.

“Mike Williams is 6’5, Tim Jennings is 5’8”

Again, repeating himself.

He also had one particular quote I didn’t write down but it was late in the game at 23-13 Seahawks and he essentially said Seattle could either run or pass the ball on 2nd down. It’s akin to saying Tim Lincecum could throw a ball, a strike, or a wild pitch. I’m sure there was a simpler way for him to say it, but he likes making football sound complicated.

Billick is a horrendous announcer and I hate the fact he’ll flap his gums again this weekend on the Cardinals/Seahawks game. He has a horrible habit of misidentifying players and the I saw him holding during his on-camera appearance clearly was a lengthy list of cliches he wanted to use at least fifteen times per broadcast. At least his partner-in-crime Chris Myers is a tad better I guess….

“Seattle, looking for its first win of the season.”

“And Chicago calls their final timeout” (referee says Seattle calls timeout)

“There’s a flag on the play.” (referee signals Chicago timeout)

They also had a moment when Myers referred to the famous comedy bit “Who’s on First?” and Billick remained silent. These guys have no chemistry together.

I hate the NFL on FOX so so much.
