The Texas Rangers are going to the World Series for the first time in their history after eliminating the defending champion New York Yankees 6-1 to win the American League pennant 4-2.
As I unleash my pecan-sized knowledge of baseball I congratulate the Rangers for essentially dominating the Yankees throughout the series. It’s only fitting former Texas Ranger Alex Rodriguez (who went 4-21 in this series) was the final out via strikeout.
Texas plays the winner of San Francisco Giants/Philadelphia Phillies out of the National League, and the Giants lead that series 3-2.
Perhaps the most enjoyable part of the celebrations was watching Craig Sager and his hideous purple suit get drenched in champagne in the Rangers locker room.
