It’s freezing, there’s still ice on the road and frozen snow so I will stay bundled up inside and watch the New Year’s Countdown from home. The Space Needle Fireworks show is pitiful compared to the rest of the world so it looks like another year of Dick Clark tragically counting down the seconds to the new year.
2010 is almost over and it was an amazing year for sports with several historic feats. The New Orleans Saints won their first Super Bowl, Canada edged out the USA in a classic Gold Medal hockey game in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Duke survived a late surge from the sentimental favorite Butler Bulldogs to win a legendary March Madness, Spain was at last crowned champions of the world with a 1-0 win over Holland in the FIFA World Cup, the LA Lakers repeated their title success with a game 7 win over the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, UConn’s women’s team finally lost a game (thus delaying the public’s interest in women’s basketball for another 3 months), and Chelsea won the Premier League title but frankly the less said about them the better. There’s more but I think I’m ready to wind down for the night. With that (along with the world’s longest sentence out of the way) I’ll finish the year by saying stay safe and don’t do something that will get you on 1,000 Ways to Die.
Tomorrow there will be a UFC 125 Prelims Live Blog special. Three fights will air on ION TV for free and I will have round-by-round updates for all bouts that make it to broadcast.
See you in 2011 and thank you for reading!
