At the start of today, a Chelsea win would’ve taken them above Manchester United on goal difference in a quite stunning comeback. Just 36 seconds after kickoff, Javier Hernandez emphatically shut those hilarious Blues fans up for good en route to a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.
It was arguably the biggest game of the Premier League season and the good guys showed up. Now it’s all a matter of getting 1 point in their final two matches against relegation-threatened Blackburn and Blackpool and it will be mathematically confirmed that Manchester United are champions of England for a record-breaking 19th time.
For as poorly as they’ve played this season, this team is only one point away from the Premier League title. There’s more work to be done afterwards on May 28th at Wembley stadium, a revenge match against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Final. The last time these clubs played, Barcelona obliterated the Red Devils and a 2-0 scoreline was kind.
I have to be a good sport about this and say congratulations to Chelsea for a strong fightback…….but even with your countless favorable calls over the last few weeks the superior team came out on top and now May 22nd is all I’m looking forward to.
