If it’s 4th and 8 at the Atlanta 43 and you have a timeout with 13 seconds left, you do NOT try and kick some impossible 61 yard field goal. That is straight-up idiocy. You have to go for the first down, which would’ve been at the Atlanta 35, thus setting up a more manageable field goal distance. Tell me how getting 8 yards is less feasible than a 61 yard FG (7 yards longer than Steven Hauschka’s career long)?
This stings. Seattle played an excellent 2nd half and should’ve won this game. They’re 1-3 and almost certainly finished for the season with the 49ers managing road wins.
This coaching staff has glimpses of brilliance but way too many brain fades.
On the plus side – Tarvaris Jackson didn’t suck today. In fact he was very good!
