Want to test how squeamish you are? This is from the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki, Finland earlier this week, all with Olympic qualifying spots on the line. In one of the heats, Bulgarian 100m sprinter Georgi Kirilov Georgiev was noticeable limping with about 30 meters to go, and then … well … for as long as the video is up, you can probably figure it out yourself.
Yikes. It’s amazing Georgiev even stood up again because his leg just folded in half. Officially he has a broken leg and a dislocated knee, and there’s really nothing more to add to this story beyond him not being able to run for a very very long time.
